AIMS
LOCAL PRESENCE
It is Cotman Housing Association’s policy only to develop and manage housing stock that is within one hour of the Association’s office.
NEIGHBOURHOOD ENGAGEMENT AND RESIDENT INVOLVEMENT
Cotman is committed to neighbourhood engagement and considers that this is key to building sustainable communities.
Cotman is keen to engage with residents in the manner they themselves prefer and consider most appropriate for their individual circumstances.
TENANCY SUSTAINMENT AND SUPPORT
Cotman recognises that some residents may not be able to sustain their tenancy without support of some kind, and endeavours to ensure residents are aware of the support opportunities available to them, and to work with them and the relevant agencies to ensure that effective support is given.
VOIDS
It is the Association’s policy only to re-let properties that are in a good state of repair and cleanliness, which necessarily causes delays on occasion. None-the-less, as at 31 March 2006, our performance was in the top quartile nationally for all four Housing Corporation Key Performance Indicators relating to voids, and Corporate Objectives have been set for 2007 to further improve void performance.
REPAIR RESPONSES
Cotman takes pride in the quality of the build and maintenance of its properties, and aims to provide a comprehensive and responsive maintenance service.
ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR AND THE RESPECT STANDARD FOR HOUSING MANAGEMENT
The Association considers that the support and participation of local residents is key to addressing ASB in their community. The Association has signed up to the Respect Standard for Housing Management and is committed to working with residents to ensure that the requirements of the Standard are met.
ENGAGEMENT WITH OTHER PARTNERSHIPS
Cotman welcomes the opportunity to actively participate in local partnerships, and believes its Officers have made a useful contribution in many forums.
