Keys/Fobs

What happens if I lose my keys/fobs?

Keys

If you should lock yourself out or lose your keys, it could be expensive if you had to call a locksmith out to replace your door lock or keys. Even worse, if it happened outside of the locksmith’s normal working hours, the cost would be even more expensive and it could take some time for you to contact a locksmith to come out to assist you.

One suggestion to minimise the cost and inconvenience you may wish to consider, is to arrange to leave spare keys with trusted persons who you could get in touch with quickly, in the event of you losing your keys or being locked out.

If you live in sheltered housing you may also wish to consider making the above arrangements to minimise any delay and inconvenience, however, if you are locked out, you could also contact your Scheme Manager, if they are on duty, or the NCAS Emergency Service, outside of office hours, as they may be able to arrange for access using the master key for the development (though it could take some time to do this).

Please note, the Association does not have spare keys for any properties and only has master keys for our sheltered housing properties.

(The Association does not arrange for locksmiths to attend on behalf of residents as it is the resident’s responsibility to arrange this, if required, and to pay the locksmith for any work they undertake for the resident).

Fobs

The Association does have replacement fobs for which the standard charge is £5. These can be obtained from your Estate Superintendent and at those developments where there isn’t an Estate Superintendent you can call the office on 01603 731699 or visit the office.
