SHELTERED HOUSING
Sheltered Accomodation
The Association has over 140 homes in Sheltered schemes. These homes are for people aged over 60 or who are disabled and want to live independently with the benefit of housing related support services.
Sheltered schemes have communal facilities - a shared lounge, kitchen, guest room and laundry room - and social activities may be organised by customers.
The Association's Accommodation For Older People
The Association has 3 rented sheltered schemes providing accommodation for persons who are over 60 years of age. The schemes are located in Bowthorpe, New Costessey and close to the centre of Norwich city centre. Residents live in self contained flats or bungalows and are independent; however support is coordinated by a Scheme Manager if required. The Scheme Manager does not provide personal care but they may be able to help you and your family arrange this through Social Services. For added security and peace of mind, all of the properties are connected to a 24-hour emergency alarm call service.
The Association manages a Seaside & Countryside Homes contract which provides housing for people aged 60 and over who wish to move from social housing in London.
The Association also manages an almshouse sheltered housing scheme at Brewster Court, Blofield on behalf of the Josiah and Mary Brewster Trust. Most properties at Brewster Court are two bedroomed bungalows or flats. Applications for this scheme are made via the Broadland DC Common Housing Register.
The Association also has two leasehold schemes for the elderly in New Costessey and Hoveton. Residents are able to purchase the lease at 70% of its market value and pay a quarterly service charge to the Association. There are part-time resident caretaker on both schemes and all of the properties are connected to a 24 hour emergency alarm call system
